About me

I am a member of renowned national chambers 3PB Barristers. I appear in courts across the Midlands and in London with the majority of my work in the High Court and in County Courts in Birmingham, Derby and the West Midlands  I do a lot of work in the specialist Business and Property Courts.

Before becoming a barrister I was managing director of a franchising company in the fitness sector. I built this business from scratch, growing from a sole trader to a company with franchises in London, the Midlands and north-west. I sold my company to re-train as a barrister and graduated in the top 8% of my cohort on the Bar course.

As a business owner and company director I encountered the range of challenges commercial enterprises face. As a barrister I use this experience try to ensure my advice is straight-forward and balances commercial interests with legal options.

Landlord & Tenant work

I manage a portfolio of residential properties so I know what it is like to manage properties and tenants.  I frequently represent both landlords and tenants in possession and forfeiture cases. This includes commercial as well as residential claims.

Sports Law

Before becoming a barrister I was a professional sports coach, working with athletes from elite international level down to grassroots. I competed at national level in hockey and later cross-country running. I continue to race, representing Great Britain in the British Triathlon veteran duathlon team.

My passion for sport has been well-used in sports law. I sit on disciplinary panels for UK Athletics, British Cycling and British Canoeing.  I acted as legal advisor to the organiser of the 2018 national road cycling championships.

Any athlete facing sporting disciplinary procedures should call me for a confidential discussion as to how I can help.
