Chris has recent experience of representing clients in the full range of licensing hearings from applications to vary existing licences and reviews before licensing committees to appeals in the magistrates' courts. His clients have ranged from national retailers to bars and nightclubs. Chris was recently instructed on a Public Access basis and succeeded in persuading a licensing committee not to revoke a bar's premises licence despite representations by the police that the licence holder was failing to uphold the licensing objective of the prevention of crime and disorder.

Chris has many years' experience of appearing at Public Inquiries before the Traffic Commissioners and advising organisations on licence applications and compliance issues. His clients have ranged from small haulage companies to large Local Authorities. He understands the unique nature of this work and that the stakes are often high for licence holders with severe implications for the business given the risk of licences being suspended, curtailed or revoked. Chris has also represented individual transport managers at Public Inquiries facing possible disqualification.
